Professor Adeniyi Lawal has been with the Deptmartment of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Stevens Institute of Technology since 1990. His roles in the department include Professor, Associate Professor, Research Associate Professor, and Senior Research Associate/Research Associate. Before joining Stevens Institute of Technology, Lawal taught for the Deptment of Chemical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

He has been awarded several honors including Stevens Alexander Crombie Humphreys Award for Outstanding Teaching (2000) and the NSERC Fellowship Award of Canada (1990).

Lawal has been published in several journals, including in Catalysis Today; Chemical Engineering Science; and Sensors and Actuators B. His professional  society involvement includes the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, US Chapter. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at McGill University; his S.M. in Chemical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and his B.Sc. Honors in Engineering at University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
