 Dr Michael L. DeLorenzo is currently serving as an adjunct professor for Stevens Institute of Technology and is a partner with Teaching Science and Technology Incorporated (TSTI).  Dr DeLorenzo is a Professor Emeritus at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and a retired Air Force Brigadier General. He was head of the Department of Astronautics at USAFA for 10 years.  Dr DeLorenzo earned bachelor degrees in astronautical engineering and engineering science from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He earned a master's degree in electrical engineering from New Mexico State University and then a doctorate in control systems from Purdue University.  During his AF career Dr DeLorenzo was a test engineer, instructor, professor, deputy director of flight dynamics test at Arnold Engineering and Development Center, chief of Wright Laboratory's Advanced Guidance Division and acting chief scientist for Wright Laboratories Armament Directorate. He also served as Vice Commander, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio where he directed day-to-day operations for a research workforce of 8,800.
