Building on EE/CPE548, this course covers advanced and practical issues of DSP. Topics to be covered include DSP structural verification and simulation, FFT algorithms; fixed-point and floating point representations and operations, finite wordlength effects, quantization, round-off errors, dynamic range scaling, limit cycles; multirate DSP, sampling rate alternation, polyphase decomposition, digital filter banks, quadrature-mirror filterbanks; and DSP applications, with focus on spectral analysis of non-stationary signals.
