Bonnie Kaplan
Bonnie Kaplan, PhD, FACMI , is an Adjunct Faculty member for Stevens Institute of Technology and a Lecturer in Medical Informatics at the Yale School of Medicine. She also teaches Yale College courses on ethical and policy issues concerning new technologies and is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she teaches sociotechnical issues. She has taught systems analysis, software engineering, and information systems topics for MBA and doctoral students. An author of more than 70 papers and book chapters, she consults on people's responses to new technologies to firms in the healthcare industry, government agencies, medical centers, and universities. Dr. Kaplan chairs the American Medical Informatics Association Working Group on People and Organizational Issues, and also the Working Group on Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues. She also is an active member of IFIP 8.2 - Information Systems and Organizations. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and a BA degree from Cornell University. She is a recipient of the American Medical Informatics Association President's Award and is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics.
