David Keeney specializes in project and process management
David Keeney (MGT609 Introduction to Project Management, MGT610 Strategic Perspectives on Project Management, MGT611 Project Planning Techniques, and MGT614 Advanced Project Management), is an expert in project and process management and professional development. He currently serves as the curriculum coordinator for the project management program within the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management. In a 21-year career at Lucent Technologies, responsibilities included manufacturing accounting, accounting business systems, technical sales support, and product, process, and project management. He has created more than 30 workshops in project, process, and supplier quality management, root-cause analysis, and benchmarking. He has delivered corporate training in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America. He has contributed to five AT&T Quality Library books and the Instructor's Resource Guide to Project Management: A Managerial Approach 5th edition published by Wiley & Sons. He authored the Meredith and Mantel Web-enabled Courseware published by Wiley & Sons in November 2003 (ISBN 0-471-46699-9). Keeney served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps, specializing in artillery and legal administration. He was the commanding officer of a 241-person artillery unit. He holds an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech. Keeney holds certifications as a PMP (Project Management Professional), CQM (Certified Quality Manager), and CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer). He received a Howe School of Technology Management Outstanding Service Award for 2002-2003.
