Noted multimedia expert Hong Man

Hong Man is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. He received his B.S. degree from Soochow University (China) in 1988, the M.S.E.E. degree from Gonzaga University in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999, all in Electrical Engineering. He had worked as a research assistant in the Center for Signal and Image Processing at Georgia Tech. He actively participated in the development of ISO/ITU JPEG2000 image coding standard. He also served in the organizing committee in IEEE 2002 International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP-02). His research interests include image and video compression, source/channel/network coding, multimedia communications and networking, subband/wavelet data transformation, image analysis, medical imaging and face recognition.
