Information Technology systems and management expert Leslie Stevens
Leslie Stevens is an Industry Professor in the System Design and Operational Effectiveness (SDOE) Program at Stevens Institute of Technology, in the SEEM Department. She specializes in teaching online, and has also taught with the University of Phoenix Online. Ms. Stevens holds a Masters in Business from Pace University in NY, an MS in Computer and Communications Sciences from the University of Michigan, and a BSc (First-Class Honours) in Mathematics from the University of Bristol, England. Prior to joining the SDOE program, Ms. Stevens was on the faculty in the Howe School of Technology Management. She was the Study Director for the research project on Port Security, published in “Securing the Port of New York and New Jersey: Network-Centric Operations Applied to the Campaign against Terrorism” published in 2004 (http://howe.stevens.edu/Research/stevens_report.html). She was also the Director of the Center for Global Technology Management – leading the formulation of the global program in the Howe School for 2 years. Prior to joining the Institute in May 2002, she was Vice President, Information Management at AT&T. Before that, Ms. Stevens led global businesses that created products for the financial and airline industries worldwide. Ms. Stevens had a 23 year career at Bell Labs, AT&T and NCR, with successes directing operations, sales and marketing, R&D, finance and strategic planning organizations. She has over 20 years experience as an executive with AT&T prior to joining Stevens Institute, with extensive software systems experience. She managed some very large systems organizations (1800 employees) and all aspects of the systems life cycle. She began her career as a systems engineer at Bell Laboratories. In addition to teaching at Stevens Institute, she is also a strategic IT consultant and recently finished an assignment for a financial firm she was responsible for the Systems Engineering function in IT. She is on the Advisory/Content Board and the Higher Education Committee for the Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA.org).
