Martin Chesin (A.B. and A.M., New York University; Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh) was a professor at Penn State University for over thirty years. His specialties include rhetoric, and computer-assisted applications of teaching writing. At Penn State he founded and administered a campus writing center, and a computer-assisted instructional training program. Dr. Chesin has extensive experience in developing distance education programs and teaching online professional writing courses. He has extensive experience in teaching all levels of composition, business, technical, and professional writing courses to undergraduate and graduate students. He has served as a private consultant in professional writing to clients including US Steel, Westinghouse, Consolidated Natural Gas Company, and various other businesses, hospitals, and law firms. At John Jay College, he has taught all the on-line sections of "Writing for Management, Business, and Public Administration." He designed and taught courses in report writing for the New York City Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Bureau. At Hunter College, he taught "Grammar for Business Professionals" for the International English Language Institute.
