No credit towards a graduate degree for departmental majors. This is a concentrated course in basic economics with particular emphasis on price theory; it is a prerequisite for candidates for the master's degree. Topics include: the nature of economic decisions, the theory of market processes, models of imperfect competition, public policy towards competition, the allocation of factors of production, and current economic problems.
