Optical networks research scientist Mohcene Mezhoudi
Mohcene Mezhoudi, a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Advanced Technologies-Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, performs research on fiber microbending effects in single mode fiber signal transmission for long-haul and ultra-long haul optical networks and high-speed optical components and systems. Earlier, he taught at Stevens' Electrical Engineering Department where he also jointly managed Stevens' Optical Communications Laboratory. Mezhoudi continues as a Research Professor at Stevens. At Bell Labs, he developed robust design and statistical design methods for optical and wireless telecommunication systems. Mezhoudi extended his work to the planning and design of optical backbone, core, and metropolitan networks. He also developed methods and design techniques for integrating robustness and reliability optical network architecture. Mezhoudi, who is the author of numerous technical publications in his areas of research interest, earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Electro-Optics from Stevens.
