Combustion and air pollution authority Richard B. Cole

R. B. Cole, a widely noted engineer and lecturer in combustion and air pollution, is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stevens. Co-director of the NYU-Stevens Joint Program in Science and Engineering and Director of Stevens’ Clean Air Vehicle Test Laboratory, he has performed research in areas of particulate emissions, hazardous waste processing, and continuous emissions monitoring for the Northeast Hazardous Substance Research Center. Cole has served on air pollution review panels for the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. For industry, he has delivered short courses on air pollution and indoor air quality, among other topics. At Stevens, he teaches courses and supervises student research in air pollution, thermodynamics, energy conversion, and combustion. Cole received his M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Princeton, a B.M.E. degree from Cornell, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens.
