Walid Ahmed is a Leading Industry Expert on Wireless Communications

Dr. Ahmed brings in 15 years of experience in wireless/digital communications, digital signal processing, and wireless networks/systems design and development. His background spans several areas such as algorithm design, system modeling and performance analysis. Dr. Ahmed has worked at Nortel Technologies in Canada (Formerly Bell Northern Research), at Bell Laboratories of Lucent Technologies and at M/A-COM, Tyco Electronics, where he is currently the Technical Lead and Senior Principal Engineer of the Systems Engineering Group. He has also taught at Ain Shams University in Egypt and at Queen’s University in Canada.  Dr. Ahmed’s research interests and technical experience include information theoretic considerations for fading channels, coding and signal processing for fading channels, signal detection and estimation, wireless multiple access wireless techniques (CDMA, TDMA, OFDM, ..., etc.), transceiver design, and mobility and resource management in cellular systems. Dr. Ahmed holds 14 U.S. patents to-date and has more than 30 pending U.S. and International patents. He has also authored/co-authored more than 40 original research articles. His biography has been listed in the world-known Marquis Who is Who in America (2006 Issue), and has also been listed in the National Register's Who is Who in Executives and Professionals (2006 Issue). Dr. Ahmed is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
