William Ruggles is an Affiliate Professor of Project Management

Professor Ruggles is an internationally-recognized expert in project/program management, enterprise-wide process improvement, and Six Sigma quality with over 30 years experience. He is currently Senior Process Improvement Consultant with Agile Technologies specializing in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, and Healthcare industries. His practice specialties include executing measurable process improvements and performance enhancements via the effective application of a variety of tools and techniques. Previously he was Director of the Center for Enhanced Project and Program Performances (CEPPP) and President of Ruggles & Associates, Inc. in Fair Lawn, NJ since 1988. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Arts from Columbia University. He is certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute, Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt by the Harrington Institute, and as a Certified Quality Manager by the American Society for Quality. He has lectured at Boston University, the NJIT, ITESM/Monterrey Tech (Mexico), Universidad del Valle (Mexico), Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador), PT Telecom RISTI Center (Indonesia), Makro Institute (Turkey), Fundación Chile, UTStarcom University (PRC), and the Harrington Institute (UAE). Mr. Ruggles was PMI International's "Person of the Year" Award recipient in 1996 and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer (1997) and Chairman of the Board (1998). Previously, he served as its Vice President of Technical Activities and President of the PMI Educational Foundation (1994-95) and Ex-Officio Member of the Board of Directors (1996) and served a two-year term as the President of the PMI's New Jersey Chapter (1990-92).
